A recent study conducted by the Menlo Consulting Group, a marketing research firm for the travel agent industry, revealed some positive information. The study revealed that faith-based travel will continue to grow in popularity, even in this rocky economy. International faith-based travel is expected to double by 2010 from 4.5 million to 9.7 million travelers. Two revealing statistics were presented in the study:
* Within the next five years, trends indicate that almost 16 million Americans are planning to take a religious/faith-based vacation. This represents 1/3 of all outbound travelers.
* 4 out of 5 past religious travelers intend to repeat the experience.
